Chemical Properties
Ethyl Silicate 28 is a blend of tetraethoxysilane and polyethoxysiloxane with a mass fraction of silica (SiO2) ranging from 28.8 - 29.5%. Soluble in solvents such as toluene, benzene, and ethanol. Ethylsilicate 28 is prepared by the reaction of silicon tetrachloride and ethanol.

Application
1. Ethyl silicate (TEOS) is a colorless liquid, mainly used as heat-resistant coatings, chemical-resistant coatings, silane coupling agents, organic synthesis intermediates and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) SiO2 films in the semiconductor field etc.
2. It is used as insulating material in electronic industry, and also used as optical glass treatment and coagulant.
3. For precision casting, as a binder for sand molds; the metal surface treated with ethyl silicate vapor can be anti-corrosion and waterproof. Ethyl silicate can be used to infiltrate metal surfaces with silicon, and optical glass can be treated to improve light transmittance; ultra-fine silicon oxide powder produced after complete hydrolysis can be used to manufacture phosphors. Ethyl silicate is the raw material of silicone oil. Ethyl silicate can also be used to make heat and chemical resistant coatings.
