Silane Coupling Agent Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) Crosile Si40 Silicon Dioxide Content of 40%
Chemical Properties
Crosile Si40 is the hydrolyzed and oligomeric form of ethyl silicate. It is a mixture of monomers, dimers, trimers and cyclic polysiloxanes.
Crosile Si40 is a clear liquid containing 40% by mass of silica (SiO2), but it actually contains branched and cyclic condensates in addition to chain condensates.

Application
Crosile Si40 tetraethyl orthosilicate is used for the deposition of silicic acid formed due to complete hydrolysis. The resulting silicic acid binds well to many inorganic substrates such as ceramics, fillers, glasses, metals, pigments and synthetic fibers. The deposition of thin layers of SiO2 improves chemical and thermal stability as well as mechanical properties.
Crosile Si40 orthosilicate can be used as a binder for zinc rich (corrosion resistant) coatings.
Crosile Si40 can be used as the starting material for sol-gel processes.
Crosile Si40 can be used as a crosslinking agent component for silicone adhesives in cold cure silicone rubber systems.
Crosile Si40 is used in dentistry as a hardening component for impression materials and as a binder for embedding materials.
Crosile Si40 can be used as a binder in the precision casting industry.
