Silane Coupling Agent C10H20O5Si Crosile®570 3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane in Adhesion Promoter
Chemical Properties
3-Methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is a methacryloyl-functional silane that is a clear, light- and heat-sensitive liquid with a mild sweet taste.
3-Methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane can be used as an adhesion promoter at the organic/inorganic interface, as a surface modifier (e.g. imparting water repellency, organophilic surface conditioning) or as a crosslinker for polymers) .
Crosile®570 is used as a coupling agent to improve the physical and electrical properties of glass reinforced and mineral filled thermoset resins when exposed to heat and/or moisture.
Crosile®570 is commonly used as a blending additive in resin systems (e.g. polyesters, acrylics) that cure by a free radical mechanism and in filled or reinforced thermoplastic polymers including polyolefins and polyurethanes.
Crosile®570 is also used to functionalize resins and modify surfaces through free radical initiated processes (copolymerization or grafting).
