Petroleum resin is a thermoplastic resin produced by cracking C5 olefin in the by-product of ethylene plant as raw material, and it is an oligomer with a relative molecular mass between 300 and 3000.
It has excellent properties such as insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents, acid resistance, alkali resistance, water resistance, chemical resistance and aging resistance. C5 petroleum resin has low production cost and large use. It can be made into block or granular form and used as tackifier in pressure-sensitive adhesives.
Hot melt adhesive is an adhesive that is heated and melted to generate fluidity, coated on the object to be bonded, and then solidified and bonded after cooling. It is an industrial adhesive and has a wide range of applications, including: women's sanitary napkins, baby diapers, etc. Disposable hygiene products; carton sealing for food, beverages and beer; woodworking furniture; wireless binding of books; labels, tapes; cigarette filter rods; clothing, adhesive linings, and cables, automobiles, refrigerators, footwear, etc.
Hot melt adhesives must be combined with tackifiers to bond firmly. In the past, natural resins such as rosin resin or terpene resin were mostly used as tackifiers, but the price was high and the source was unstable. In recent years, the use of petroleum resins as tackifiers has gradually become dominant.
ECOPOWER resin has the characteristics of high peeling adhesive strength, good fast track, stable adhesive performance, moderate melt viscosity, good compatibility with polymer matrix, and low price, and has begun to gradually replace natural resin tackifiers.
