Modified Rosin Ester is an alcohol. It is a kind of white crystalline powder, which is soluble in ethanol, glycerol, ethylene glycol, formamide but insoluble in acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ether and petroleum ether.
Rosin modified maleic resin can be esterified by adding gum rosin to maleic anhydride, glycerol, or pentaerythritol.
