1. Application in Tyres

The largest amount of silica used as reinforcing agent is in the rubber field, accounting for 70% of the total amount. White Carbon Black can significantly improve the physical properties of the rubber compound, reduce the hysteresis of the rubber compound, reduce the rolling resistance of the tire, and do not lose its wet skid resistance. As a reinforcing filler, ultra-fine silica can be used in the production of green tires and can be used in the sidewall instead of carbon black. It can significantly increase the tear strength and crack growth resistance of the sidewall, but has no obvious effect on the curing time. The ozone aging resistance depends on the number of antioxidants and silica. Adding silica to the tread compound of the tire can improve the cutting resistance and tear resistance of the tread and reduce the jumping and falling.

2. Application in Paint and Coating Industry

Silica can be used in coating production as a rheological additive, anti-settling agent, dispersant aid and matting agent, and plays a role in thickening, anti-settling, thixotropic and matting. It can also improve the weather resistance and scratch resistance of the coating, the adhesion strength between the coating and the substrate, the hardness of the coating, the aging resistance of the coating, and the ultraviolet absorption and infrared light reflection characteristics.

3. Application in Toothpaste

Precipitated silica is the main type of friction agent for toothpaste at present. Precipitated silica has a large total specific surface area, strong adsorption capacity, a large number of adsorbed substances, and uniform particles, which are conducive to improving transparency. Because of its stable nature, non-toxic and harmless, it is a good raw material for toothpaste. The refractive index of silica is between 1.45 and 1.50, which is very close to the refractive index of other ingredients in the toothpaste. Therefore, when mixed together, it acts as a transparent agent. This feature is used to make transparent toothpaste, which is also a function that no other friction agent does not have.

4. Application of Silica in Rubber Shoes

Silicon Dioxide has high blackness and fine particles. The vulcanizate made of transparent white carbon has high transparency and can improve the comprehensive physical properties of the compound. Therefore, white carbon black is widely used as the main reinforcing filler in the sole-making materials of high-end leather shoes and sports shoes, especially in transparent and translucent soles. It can improve the wear resistance, hardness, tensile strength and tear strength of the sole.
